The Best of Brought To Life - 239

1. THE VOLCANO SUNS - 'Jak' - Homestead LP - USA - 1985
I promised I'd revisit this lot and, lo and behold, their debut album 'The Bright Orange Years' is rather good. Especially side one.
2. MELLAKKA - 'Ei' / 'Oikeus Valita' - Ei Ei Levyt 7" - Finland - 1984
If I remember rightly from my elementary school Finnish classes, Mellakka means 'Riot'.  Here's the opening two blasts from their debut E.P. 'Ei', which means 'not'. Love the way the tracks link up.
3. THE BATS - 'Popgun' - Gustav 7" - USA - 1980
We'll slow it down now for a nice '60s influenced pop tune. They did an album too but I haven't heard it yet.
4. DECLINO - 'Inutile Trionfo' - Disforia Tapes cassette - Italy - 1984
Back to the hard stuff. This was from their split tape with Negazione entitled 'Mucchio Selvaggio'. I didn't do Italian. Anyway, Children Of The Revolution later released it on vinyl.
5. THE HEARTBREAKERS - 'Born To Lose' - Track LP - USA - 1977
Well, the Heartbreakers album was long enough coming. Not sure why that is, but enjoy.
6. 84 ROOMS - 'Cast Iron Arm' - Rackit 12" - USA - 1982
A strange mix of styles on this one, but it works, for me. From their debut E.P.
7. JINGO DE LUNCH - 'What You See' - We Bite LP - Germany - 1987
This lot formed from the ashes of Manson Youth, who'll you be hearing from soon enough. This is from their debut album 'Perpetuum Mobile'.
8. MELLAKKA - 'Kiitollinen Kansalainen' - Rat Poison 7" - Finland - 1985
The opening track from second E.P. ''Itsenäisyyspäivä'.
9. THE VOLCANO SUNS - 'Descent Into Hell'Homestead LP - USA - 1985
A second track from 'The Bright Orange Years'.
10. JOE PUBLIC - 'Anti CND' - Capital 7" - UK - 1985
This is actually Long Tall Shorty, vaguely incognito. The superior flipside to 'Champagne Charlie'.
11. THE NEWS - 'Soft Cream' - News Factory 7" - Japan - 1987
Jaunty Japanese nonsense from their first E.P. Get the whole thing here.
12. THE HEARTBREAKERS - 'Chinese Rocks'Track LP - USA - 1977

16. THE VOLCANO SUNS - 'Balancing Act'Homestead LP - USA - 1985
