The Best of Brought To Life - 202

1. THE RUNAWAYS - 'Cherry Bomb' - Mercury LP - USA - 1976
The opening track on their debut album which they never bettered in my opinion. The recent biography film seems to think so too. Michael Shannon's performance as Kim Fowley was better than the music.
2. THE ENEMIES - 'Test-Tube Baby' - Raw Productions MLP - USA - 1980
From New York, fronted by Billy Piranha. Great riff. Get the whole thing here.
3. RAINBOW RED OXIDISER - 'Recorded Lies' - Quark LP - USA - 1980
Thanks to Nolti for identifying this one! From their sole album released in both the U.S. and Germany.
4. VIGIL-ANTI - 'Foetal Position' - Aberrant LP - Australia - 1984
From 'Not So Humdrum - the second Aberrant Sydney compilation'.

Another track from 'Not So Humdrum'.
9. CHUZPE - 'I Loved The Sixties' - Schnazz-o-phone 7" - Austria - 1979
I overlooked this one first time around (probably cos it's not as good as 'Charlie Chan') but Killed By Death the blog has shown me the error of my ways.

The opening track from their second 1-sided E.P. 'TK II'.

12. THE ROCKS - 'Kamikaze Twist'Aberrant LP - Australia - 1984
A third track from 'Not So Humdrum'.
13. IGGY POP & JAMES WILLIAMSON - 'Consolation Prizes' - Bomp! LP - USA - 1977
The most danceable track from 'Kill City'.

Another track from their first album.
21. SLEEPY SLEEPERS - 'Liuskis Läyskis Lepakko' - Oy EMI Finland LP - Finland - 1975

A fifth track from 'Not So Humdrum'.
23. TERVEET KÄDET - 'A.L.I.E.N.' - Propaganda LP - Finland - 1983

Another track from 'Kill City'. A love song to the classic Finnish record label. Possibly.
25. STITCHED-BACK FOOT AIRMAN - 'Shake Up' - In Tape 12" - UK - 1987

The Best of Brought To Life - 201

1. THE PENETRATORS - 'The Break' - Limp LP - USA - 1978
I remember getting ':30 Over DC - Here Comes The New Wave!' way back when. Red vinyl with paper inserts, and it started of with this anthemic track. The rest of the album was a mixed bunch however, with bands like Half Japanese . . . I could never really get into that 'no wave' stuff. But many thanks to Drago who kindly re-ripped it for me after I somehow lost (or sold) the original.
2. THE STALIN - 'Reizōko' - Political LP - Japan - 1981
The first Stalin album 'Trash' was also a mixed effort. 20 tracks though so there was plenty to like.
3. THE MIX - 'Maybe (Face To The Wall)' - Zoinks 7" - Canada - 1985
Some interesting powerpop from British Columbia. Get the whole thing here.
4. THE SICK THINGS - 'Prime Minister' - Demo - Australia - 1980
A trio of raucous Aussie bands now, none more so than the legendary Sick Things. This finally got a release on the 'My Life's A Mess' LP.

Another track available on the 'Scab Animal' retrospective.

The title track from, you guessed it, 'Trash'.

The Best of Brought To Life - 196

1. PUNISHMENT OF LUXURY - 'Puppet Life' - United Artists LP - UK - 1979
The opening track from one of the best albums of all time 'Laughing Academy'.
2. PUNISHMENT OF LUXURY - 'Funk Me'United Artists LP - UK - 1979
Followed by the second track. It complements it so seamlessly.
3. THE MISFITS - 'I Turned Into A Martian' - Ruby LP - USA - 1982
From the classic 'Walk Among Us'.  'Possession of the mind is a terrible thing, it's a transformation with an urge to kill'.
4. THE POP RIVETS - 'Lambrettavespascoota' - Hipocrite LP - UK - 1979
One from their debut album cheekily named 'Greatest Hits'. A playful tribute or a straight piss-take? You decide.
5. THE MUTANTS - 'Perfect Target' - Mutiny Shadow International LP - USA - 1982
Their only album 'Fun Terminal' had a very refined sound but I'm not sure that was ideal for a band with such a reputedly chaotic live show.
6. THE OFFS - 'Black Sun' - Live - USA - 1980
Available on the Vampir CD 'Live At The Mabuhay Gardens, Nov 7 1980'.
7. PUNISHMENT OF LUXURY - 'Hold Me (Never Mold Me)' - Red Rhino 7" - UK - 1983
Their final single. A mate once said it sounded like the New Romantics. We are no longer friends . . .
8. THE MISFITS - 'Night Of The Living Dead'Ruby LP - USA - 1982
A second track from 'Walk Among Us'.  'Stumble in somnambulance where pre-dawn corpses come to life'.

11. THE OUTPATIENTS - 'Fight' - Demo - USA - 1983
The opening track from the legendary 'Basement Tape'.
12. PUNISHMENT OF LUXURY - 'Funghi' - Red Rhino LP - UK - 1983
The opening track from second album '7'. Does anyone have an mp3 of 'Fairiation'? That one doesn't seem to have been comped anywhere and I aim to put that right!
13. THE MISFITS - 'Skulls'Ruby LP - USA - 1982
A third from 'Walk Among Us'.  'The corpses all hang headless and limp, bodies with no surprises, as the blood drains down like devils rain, we'll bathe tonight'. Lovely.

The ominous-sounding second track from '7'.
