The Best of Brought To Life - 075

1. THE D.P.s - 'Television Romeo' - Barn LP - UK - 1978
The fabulous Depressions with a new name designed to remove any negative connotations and boost sales. It never worked. From the only D.P.s album 'If You Know What I Mean'.
2. HOSTAGES OF AYATOLLAH - 'Hallo Nachbar' - Own Label 7" - Germany - 1985
From their first vinyl release - a 6-track E.P.
3. KYAH - 'Am I Bitch Or Not?' - Spankids 12" - Japan - 1986
Well, if they have to ask . . . From another 6-tracker, this time on 12" wax from the wonderful world of Japan. A crazy all-girl combo.
4. THE MARPLOTS - 'Bombenterror' - Pogar 7" - Germany - 1985
From a 4-track E.P. They released an album the following year then that was it.
5. DYNAMO - 'Emman Pojat' - Poko 7" - Finland - 1981
The B-side of sole single 'Hamina On Kaupunki'.
6. THE HENCHMEN - 'Zenith Reptile' - Demo - New Zealand - 1984
Evolving from the Dum Dum Boys, The Henchmen released a few Stooges-influenced platters before changing into Reptiles At Dawn. Available on the 'Lust For Glory' retrospective.
7. MORNINGTON CRESCENT - 'Possession' - Scratched 7" - Netherlands - 1983
From the 'Greetings From Amsterdam' EP, their only original vinyl, though in 2012 a 'Still Shocking' album came out with added demos and remixes. This 7" caused much confusion and hilarity at the time as the label mistakenly stated that it played at 45rpm. The vocals did sound a bit too slow at 33rpm but that was just the way Hans delivered them - a vocal style that many a crustie would soon adopt.
8. THE EDGE - 'Corporate Abuse' - Throbbing Lobster 7" - USA - 1985
From their 2nd and final 7" 'Alternative Allston'. Another cool 3-tracker.
9. THE FRED BANANA COMBO - 'Thursday' - Ariola LP - Germany - 1980
The self-titled debut LP by the Fred Banana Combo is a fun record. Merseybeat goes punk. Watch out though, the records they knocked out after this just weren't in the same class. From Düsseldorf.
10. THE RUTS - 'Lobotomy' - Demo - UK - 1978
The Ruts were one of the best more-popular acts of the punk era. Here's a rare early demo track.
11. FUCK GEEZ - 'Fill With Punk Rock' - Jungle Hop International 7" - Japan - 1987
From a 5-track French release ('Here's The Fuck Geez') by a punchy Japanese band.
12. THE D.P.s - 'Do The Works'Barn LP - UK - 1978
Another track from 'If You Know What I Mean'.
13. S.V.S. - 'Automatic' - Selfish 7" - Japan - 1986
From the 'Hell Near' E.P. which is all I ever found by them.
14. THE FRED BANANA COMBO - 'Strange Sound' - Ariola LP - Germany - 1980
Another from the self-titled debut LP.
15. THE SPIES - 'The Rat Spat Back' - Normal 7" - Australia - 1980
Another band called The Spies, this time from Australia. From a 5-track E.P.
16. Th eROCKERS - 'Hey D.J.' - see Saw LP - Japan - 1980
The opening track from their debut album 'Who Th eRockers?' The small 'e' in the wrong place is slightly annoying, but it's different, I suppose.
17. CRISIS - 'Kill Kill Kill' - Demo - UK - 1977
Another classic early punk demo now. Available on the 'We Are All Jews And Germans' double CD.
18. MORNINGTON CRESCENT - 'In Bed' - Scratched 7" - Netherlands - 1983
Another thrasher from the 'Greetings From Amsterdam' E.P.
19. SINIESTRO TOTAL - 'Purdey' - DRO 7" - Spain - 1982
A track from the 'Ayatollah!' E.P. which I should have included on an earlier compilation.
20THE FRED BANANA COMBO - 'She Loves You' Ariola LP - Germany - 1980
A cracking Beatles cover now. Here's a video of them performing 'Yesterday'.
21. THE DALEKS - 'Rejected' - Exterminated Products 7" - UK - 1980
From their sole release, 'The Daleks O.K.' 3-tracker.
22. HOSTAGES OF AYATOLLAH - 'Oh Mama' - Own Label 7" - Germany - 1985
Another track from their 6-track E.P.

Another early Ruts demo.
24. THE APES OF WRATH - 'Fucked Up' - X-Mist 7" - Germany - 1987
From their only release, the 'Stronzo' 6-track flexi. An all-girl band.
25. THE DALEKS - 'This Life'Exterminated Products 7" - UK - 1980
And finally, another track from 'The Daleks O.K.' 7".
