The Best of Brought To Life - 073

1. KAAOS - 'Mellakka' - Propaganda 7" - Finland - 1982
From their first 9-track 7" 'Totallinen Kaaos' - one of the classic early Finnish thrash 7"s.
2. BOSKOPS - 'Tot Geboren' - Mülleimer LP - Germany - 1985
From their second album 'Lauschgift' which also had a Brazilian release.
3. BATTALION OF SAINTS - 'My Mind's Diseased' - Nutrons/Enigma LP - USA - 1984
The opening track from their metal-influenced 'Second Coming' album.
4. THE DILDO'S - 'Help Me Loving You' - Lark 7" - Netherlands - 1978
Their sole release. Also known as 'The Phallic Four'. Arf.
5. JESUS & THE GOSPELFUCKERS - 'Genocide Express' - Demo - Holland - 1982
Well, we had the best of Agent Orange on the last sampler so we may as well have something from Jesus & Co. Available on the 'Couldn't Care Less' CD on Kangaroo.
6. FLAG OF DEMOCRACY (F.O.D.) - 'Houses Made For Mannequins' - Buy Our LP - USA - 1986
The first F.O.D. album 'Shatter Your Day' was a frantic affair. This was the opening track.
7. NOTSENSIBLES - 'I'm In Love With Margaret Thatcher' -  Demo - UK - 1979
Recorded at Cargo studios. Different to the single. We can argue all day about which version is best but the silliness shines through.
8. THE SKIDS - 'Circus Games' - Virgin 7" - UK - 1980
Their 10th 7". TOTP performance here.
9. HENRY VYHNAL - 'Punk Power' - The Corporate Label - Australia - 1979
The flipside of sole single 'Wake Up Tania'. We'll let the Wallabies tell you all about it.
10. THE MODERNS - 'All Gone Now' - Imaginary LP - USA - 1982
From their only vinyl release, the 'Serve And Protect' album, though there is rumoured to be a cassette-only release somewhere called 'Jagged Edges'. They came from Auburn, Alabama, close to the state line with Georgia.
11. THE GENERATORS - 'Temporarily Out Of Control' - Self-released 7" - USA - 1981
B-side of their only single 'Summertime'. This lot were from Cleveland, Ohio. Here's a live version.
12. THE ENEMIES - 'Capitol Idea' - Top Of The World 7" - USA - 1981
Their second single. From Buffalo. The flipside is a winner too.
13. BATTALION OF SAINTS - 'Second Coming'Nutrons/Enigma LP - USA - 1984
The title track from 'Second Coming'. Better than the 7" version.
14. FLAG OF DEMOCRACY (F.O.D.) - 'Shatter Your Day'Buy Our LP - USA - 1986
Another dose of high speed mayhem from 'Shatter Your Day'.
15. THE DILDO'S - 'Sweet Revenge' Lark 7" - Netherlands - 1978
The flipside of 'Help Me Loving You'.
16. NOTSENSIBLES - 'I Am A Clone' - Demo - UK - 1979
Another of the infamous Cargo demos.
17. THE SKIDS - 'Goodbye Civilian' - Virgin 7" - UK - 1980
Their 9th single, which was available as a picture disc if I remember rightly. Visuals here.
18. JESUS & THE GOSPELFUCKERS - 'Gospelfuckers' - Demo - Holland - 1982
Another from their chaotic demo tape.
19. FLAG OF DEMOCRACY (F.O.D.) - 'Science Patrol'Buy Our LP - USA - 1986
And a third track from 'Shatter Your Day'.
20. BOSKOPS - 'Ord Und Zeit'Mülleimer LP - Germany - 1985
The other stand-out from 'Lauschgift'.
21. BATTALION OF SAINTS - 'Ace Of Spades'Nutrons/Enigma LP - USA - 1984
Time for a cover version - a pretty faithful crack at the Motörhead classic. From 'Second Coming'.
22. THE ENEMIES - 'Political Sod' Top Of The World 7" - USA - 1981
As promised, the flipside of 'Capitol Idea'.
23. NOTSENSIBLES - 'Wrong Love' - Demo - UK - 1979
A third from the Cargo demos.
24. FLAG OF DEMOCRACY (F.O.D.) - 'Everything's O.K.' Buy Our LP - USA - 1986
And a fourth from 'Shatter Your Day'.
25. THE SKIDS - 'All The Young Dudes' - Virgin 7" - UK - 1979
And finally, another cover version from the 'Working For The Yankee Dollar' double-pack. This one eclipses the Mott The Hoople version with the presence of Stuart Adamson's wailing guitar.
