The Best of Brought To Life - 224

1. HERE AND NOW - 'This Time' - Peel Session - UK - 1978
Hawkwind goes punk? This lot do have a 'space rock' tag on them mainly due to close connections with 'Gong' and they were around well before punk anyway. The members were fluid, as pretty much was the music.
2. THE OUTCASTS - 'Self Conscious Over You' - Good Vibrations LP - UK - 1979
Having previously stated unequivocably that 'Love Is For Sops' (see Bonus Tracks) what do they go and do? Fall in love, that's what!  Well, I suppose it happens to the best of us . . .
3. WARSAW PAKT - 'Lorraine' - Demo - UK - 1977
From the CD version of 'Needle Time' - their swiftly recorded album which was supposedly in the shops less than 24 hours after recording it. Quite a stunt, but it's hard to believe it's actually possible.
4. THE KILLJOYS - 'Recognition' - Peel Session - UK - 1977
Did I post a demo version of this one before, or the Peel session version? No matter, here it is again. Our Kevin did get his recognition in the end, but shame it wasn't with the Killjoys.
5. MOB 47 - 'Vi Rustar Dom Dör' - Roj 7" - Sweden - 1984
It's been 124 samplers since we had any Mob 47. Sorry about that. Here's another from their first E.P.
6. THE REZILLOS - '(My Baby Does) Good Sculptures' - Peel Session - UK - 1977
This is probably the third version of this song that I've posted. It's that good.
7. DEVO - 'Gut Feeling' / 'Slap Your Mammy' - Virgin LP - USA - 1978
Probably the only tracks from their classic debut album that I haven't already posted.
8. THE METEORS - 'Aint Gonna Bring Me Down' - Peel Session - UK - 1983
We had the Guana Batz last week, so now here's some Meteors!
9. WARSAW PAKT - 'Even Money' - Demo - UK - 1977
Another great demo from the CD version of 'Needle Time'.
10. THE MOLESTERS - 'Disco Love' - Peel Session - UK -1978
This one sounds quite different to the single version. Any excuse to re-post a great song.
11. MOB 47 - 'Snuten Styr' - Ägg cassette - Sweden - 1984
From their 'Sjuk Varld' cassette.
12. HAGAR THE WOMB - 'Today's Miss World' - Peel Session - UK -1984
'We reject today's Miss World'. Right on sisters. At this point the whole thing was almost comedy anyway.
13. THE OUTCASTS - 'Love You For Never' - 1979
Another track from 'Self Conscious Over You' where they try to regain their tough non-emotional credibility.
14. HERE AND NOW - 'What You See Is What You Are' - Peel Session - UK - 1978
Another track from their groovy Peel session.
15. MOB 47 - 'Dom Ljuger' - Roj 7" - Sweden - 1984
And another track from their first E.P.
16. THE KILLJOYS - 'Naive' - Peel session - UK - 1977
This is one of those weird situations where you got a much better sound on the record than the Peel session. I'm talking about the guitar sound here. All hail to Spaceward.
17. DEVO - 'Strange Pursuits' - Virgin LP - USA - 1979
One from second album 'Duty Now For The Future'.
18. THE REZILLOS - 'No' - Peel Session - UK - 1977
Another track from their first Peel session.
19. WARSAW PAKT - 'It's Not True' - Island LP - UK - 1977
One from the 'proper' version of 'Needle Time'.
20. THE POP RIVETS - 'Where Have All The Good Times Gone?' - Peel Session - UK - 1980
The 'Rivets rattle through an old Kinks classic. Sorta pre-empted Thee Milkshakes.
21. MOB 47 - 'Ingen Framtid' - Roj 7" - Sweden - 1984
A third track from their first E.P.
22. THE METEORS - 'Long Blonde Hair' - Peel Session - UK - 1983
Another from their '83 Peel session.
23. THE OUTCASTS - 'The Cops Are Coming' - Good Vibrations LP - UK - 1979
The closing track from 'Self Conscious Over You'.
24. THE REZILLOS - 'Fight Amongst Yourselves' - Peel Session - UK - 1977
This one was retitled 'It Gets Me' for the album. And it's pretty obvious why.
25. PETER AND THE TEST-TUBE BABIES - 'Zombie Creeping Flesh' - Trapper 7" - UK - 1983
Their third single, long, long before you had Zombie shows on every other channel.
***BONUS TRACKS***
26. THE KILLJOYS - 'Back To Front' (from the '77 Peel session)
27. MOB 47 - 'Vi Kan' (from 'Sjuk Varld')
28. DEVO - 'Swelling Itching Brain' (from 'Duty Now For The Future')
29. THE REZILLOS - 'Top Of The Pops' (from the '77 Peel session)
30. THE KILLJOYS - 'At Night' (from the '77 Peel session)
31. THE OUTCASTS - 'Love Is For Sops' (flipside of 'Just Another Teenage Rebel')
32. MOB 47 - Det Är Upp Till Oss (from the 7" E.P.)
