The Best of Brought To Life - 166

1. THE CRAMPS - 'The Most Exalted Potentate Of Love' -
Enigma MLP - USA - 1983
The opening track and stand-out cut from 'Smell Of Female'. Enjoy the definitive Cramps video here.
2. THE ABRASIVE WHEELS - 'Army Song' - Abrasive 7" - UK - 1981
The rabble-rousing classic from '81 that got them a deal with Riot City.
3. THE FAVOURITES - 'On My Mind' - Demo - UK - 1979
Released on the impossible-to-find Low Down Kids album 'S.O.S.'
4. THE DARK - 'Einstein's Brain' - Fresh 7" - UK - 1981
Their third single. Every one of 'em had a distinctly different sound.
5. THE RAMONES - 'Rock 'n' Roll High School' - Sire 7" - USA - 1979
Much better than the 'End Of The Century' version. Enjoy the party from the film of the same name.
6. THE SCENE - 'Hey Girl' - Hole In The Wall 7" - UK - 1980
Unashamed '60s/mod revival. Their sole single.
7. THE RADIO STARS - 'From A Rabbit' - Chiswick 7" - UK - 1978
Their fourth single. There was a 6" version which annoyed the hell out of everyone as you lost it in your record collection and you were forced to stick the needle on it manually. Madness, I tell you!
8. ADAM ROTH - 'Speed It Up' - ACM LP - USA - 1981
One from his 'Down The Shore' original soundtrack LP.
9. RED RAGE - 'Total Control' - Flicknife 7" - UK - 1980
Their only single, though 1977 Records gave it a limited re-release.
10. THE SLOWGUNS - 'American Heartbeat' - MPA 7" - UK - 1979
The flipside of debut single 'TV Movie'. You'll get the A-side later.
11. THE FAVOURITES - 'New Feeling' - Demo - UK - 1979
Another one available on 'S.O.S.'
12. THE CRAMPS - 'What's Inside A Girl?' - Big Beat LP - USA - 1986
One of the high points of 'A Date With Elvis'. Live on The Tube here.
13. THE LOCALS - 'You Never Have Fun' - Griffy 7" - USA - 1980
Their only single, re-issued on Sing Sing. From New York City.
14. THE ABRASIVE WHEELS - 'Juvenile' - Abrasive 7" - UK - 1981
From the flipside of 'Army Song'.
15. CHAOTIC SUBVERSION - 'Dead Meat' - Looney Tunes 7" - UK - 1989
From the 'No Frontiers' international compilation E.P.  Originally it was scheduled for release on my Real World label but the taxman put an end to that and Looney Tunes kindly agreed to release it instead.
16. THE PILLS - 'Hollywood Doll' - Self-Released 12" - USA - 1980
This 4-song E.P. was their sole release. From Tucson Arizona. The influences are obvious.
17. THE DARK - 'On The Wires' - Fresh 7" - UK - 1981
Their fourth single. Yet again, a slight departure from their previous efforts.
18. THE FAVOURITES - 'S.O.S.' - 4-Play 7" - UK - 1979
Their debut single. ABBA covers usually work a treat.
19. THE CRAMPS - 'Goo Goo Muck' - I.R.S. LP - USA - 1981
A relatively laid back toon from 'Psychedelic Jungle'.
20. THE DANCING COUNTERPARTS - 'Dancing Counterpart' - Off-Centre 7" - UK - 1980
Another obscure sole single. Recorded in Luton, apparently.
21. BAD ATTITUDE - 'Inner Motives' - Looney Tunes 7" - Germany - 1989
Another track from the 'No Frontiers' E.P.
22. THE SLOWGUNS - T'V Movie' - MPA 7" - UK - 1979
As promised - the A-side of their debut single.
23. RED RAGE - 'I Give You This' - Flicknife 7" - UK - 1980
The flipside of 'Total Control'.
24. HUBERT KAH - 'Du Bist So Schön' - Polydor 7" - Germany - 1982
The flipside of debut single 'Rosemarie'.
25. THE CRAMPS - 'Can Your Pussy Do The Dog?' - Big Beat LP - USA - 1986
And another cracker from 'A Date With Elvis'. 'Here kitty kitty!'  Visuals here.
***BONUS TRACKS***
26. THE ABRASIVE WHEELS - 'So Slow'
27. T.W.E.R.P. - 'Wheelchair'
28. NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - 'Time To Care'
29. THE FAVOURITES - 'Favourite Shoes'
