The Best of Brought To Life - 162

1. 'O' LEVEL - 'Everybody's On Revolver Tonight' - Kings Road 7" - UK - 1978
From 'The Malcolm E.P'. - their second effort.   'Six o'clock they said they'd call, so I dyed my hair bright red, but they must have gone without me so now I must go to bed'. They don't write 'em like that anymore. They also reference the TVPs which is hardly surprising since this record sounds so much like them.
2. THE UNTAMED - 'Black Heart' - Real World 7" - UK - 1988
I myself bashed this one out by our local heroes of the mid-'80s. Nice riffage by Richie Thunders. Recorded in a pig pen, I shit you not! They were a great live band that never got the credit they deserved. The only other thing they released was the flexi-disc which was given away with '10 Years On' issue #7. All you'll find on the 'net about them is probably here.
3. THE FAST - 'Boys Will Be Boys' - CBS 7" - USA - 1976
The debut single by another underrated band. Here's what they were like live.
4. STUDENT NURSE - 'Encounter' - Rug 12" - USA - 1980
The opening track from their second record, 'As Seen On TV,' a 1-sided 12" E.P.  Remember those?
5. EASY MONEY - 'High Fashion' - Richard's Records - Canada - 1980
The flipside of debut single 'Getting Lost'.
6. MANUAL SCAN - 'Nothing You Can Do' - Dance and Stance 7" - USA - 1983
From their debut 'Plan Of Action' E.P.  A nice '60s revival band.
7. THE A.D.s - 'More Than Once' - Blue Lunch 7" - USA - 1982
Their third single.
8. SMALL WORLD - 'Stupidity Street' - Valid 7" - UK - 1983
From their 'First Impressions' E.P.  Get the retrospective on Detour.
9. THE FAST - 'Kids Just Wanna Dance' - Ram 7" - USA - 1978
The superior flipside of second single 'It's Like Love'.
10. THE DONUTS - 'All The Innocent Girls' - Self-Released 7" - USA - 1980
The flipside of their only single. Get the other side here.
11. LONG TALL SHORTY - 'Win Or Lose' - Ramkup 7" - UK - 1981
Some mod revival now. Their second single.
12. TOO MUCH - 'Kick Me One More Time' - Lightning 7" - UK - 1979
Their second and final single. A three-tracker.
13. STUDENT NURSE - 'Garbage' - Rug 12" - USA - 1980
Another track from 'As Seen On T.V.'  And here's what you could have seen.
14. THE REACTORS - 'Cold Eyes' - Stress 7" - USA - 1980
There were lots of bands called the Reactors. This lot were from Austin, Texas. The flipside of sole single 'It's Not Important'.
15. THE FAST - 'Wow Pow Bash Crash' - CBS 7" - USA - 1976
The flipside of 'Boys Will Be Boys'.
16. 'O' LEVEL - 'We Love Malcolm' - Kings Road 7" - UK - 1978
Another goodie from 'The Malcolm E.P.'
17. QUINCY - 'Can't Live In A Dream' - CBGB 7" - USA - 1978
Their debut single. The rest were a bit lightweight for me.
18. THE A.D.s - 'New Year's Resolution' - Blue Lunch 7" - USA - 1982
The flipside of 'More Than Once'.
19. MANUAL SCAN - 'American Way' - Dance and Stance 7" - USA - 1983
Another track from their debut 'Plan Of Action' E.P.
20. STUDENT NURSE - 'Big Cheese' - Rug 12" - USA - 1980
A third track from 'As Seen On T.V.'
21. LEW LEWIS - 'Lucky Seven' - Stiff 7" - UK - 1978
Second single from Canvey Island's favourite son.
22. MONOMANIA - 'Second Verse' - Better Day 7" - Denmark - 1979
The flipside of sole single 'I'm Weird'. Probably too weird.
23. THE FAST - 'Girls In Gangs' - Recca LP - USA - 1981
One from 'Leather Boys From The Asphalt Jungle'.
24. EASY MONEY - 'No Stranger To Danger' - Richard's Records - Canada - 1980
The flipside of second single 'Standing In Your Shadow'. Hear both a-sides here.
25. LONG TALL SHORTY - 'Aint Done Wrong' - Ramkup 7" - UK - 1981
The flipside of 'Win Or Lose'.
***BONUS TRACKS***
