The Best of Brought To Life - 160

1. G-ZET - 'Title in Japanese Characters' - ADK 12" - Japan - 1984
The unmistakeable sound of G-Zet - a largely instrumental band. From their only record which is also available on an OK Records retrospective CD.
2. RF7 - 'Chainsaw Love Affair' - Demo - USA - 1982
A reworking of an early track from their 'Acts Of Defiance' E.P.  Available on the 'All You Can Eat' CD on Grand Theft Audio.
3. THE POGUES - 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God' - Pogue Mahone LP - UK - 1988
The title track from their third album which is as good as anything they released. And of course it contains 'Fairytale Of New York'.
4. CHRIST CHILD - 'Teacher' - Buddah LP - USA - 1977
From the hills of Malibu and Topanga Canyons. They only ever did this album (called 'Hard') - there was also a single but both tracks were taken from the album. And they weren't the best tracks either.
5. SOZZ - 'Law 'N' Order' - Farmer 7" - Switzerland - 1980
Second single. One of my favourite Swiss platters.
6. POPEDA - 'Suuret Setelit' - Poko 7" - Finland - 1979
We haven't had anything from Finland for a while. This lot were very prolific. This was their third single.
7. THE ODDS - 'Saturday Night' - Red Rhino 7" - UK - 1980
One of three singles they released that year.
8. RF7 - 'Kiss Ass' - Smoke 7 LP - USA - 1982
The opening track to their 'Weight Of The World' LP. The guitar is a bit low in the mix, but otherwise a solid album.
9. THE LETTERS - 'Don't Want You Back' - Heartbeat 7" - UK - 1980
The flipside of sole single 'Nobody Loves Me', though Detour have done a full-length retrospective.
10. THE POGUES - 'Turkish Song Of The Damned' - Pogue Mahone LP - UK - 1988
A second track from 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God'. An Irish/Turkish mix that you don't get to hear that often.
11. G-ZET - 'Title in Japanese Characters' - ADK 12" - Japan - 1984
Another track from their 12" E.P.
12. PRLJAVO KAZALISTE - 'Ja Sam Mladić U Najboljim Godinama' - Suzy LP - Yugoslavia - 1979
From their eponymous debut album.
13. RF7 - 'Time Bomb' - Smoke 7 LP - USA - 1982
A second track from 'Weight Of The World'.
14. REVENGE - 'Pornography' - Loony 7" - UK - 1978
The flipside of second and final single 'We're Not Gonna Take It'. Check out the sleeve - they don't sound like they look!
15. MORTIMER - 'General Idi Amin Dada' - BP 7" - Spain - 1978
Their first of two singles. From Barcelona.
16. THE POGUES - 'Bottle Of Smoke' - Pogue Mahone LP - UK - 1988
A third track from 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God'.
17. RF7 - 'Government Science Fiction' Smoke 7 LP - USA - 1982
And a third from 'Weight Of The World'.
18. G-ZET - 'Dog Eat Dog' - ADK 12" - Japan - 1984
G-Zet with vocals. What's going on?!?
19. CHRIST CHILD - 'Street Babies' - Buddah LP - USA - 1977
Another track from 'Hard'.
20. PRLJAVO KAZALISTE - 'Covjek Za Sutra' - Suzy LP - Yugoslavia - 1979
And another from their eponymous debut album.
21. THE LETTERS -' Nobody Loves Me' - Heartbeat 7" - UK - 1980
Well, you may as well have the A-side too.
22. THE POGUES - 'Lullaby Of London' - Pogue Mahone LP - UK - 1988
A fourth from 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God'. Nice and sentimental.
23. RF7 - 'Jesus Loves You' - Smoke 7 LP - USA - 1982
And a fourth from 'Weight Of The World'.
24. G-ZET - 'Title in Japanese Characters' - Japan Record Co. LP - Japan - 1983
One of their offerings from the legendary 'Great Punk Hits' comp.
25. CHRIST CHILD - 'Crazy Dirty And Dangerous' - Buddah LP - USA - 1977
And a third track from 'Hard'.
