The Best of Brought To Life - 106

1. KRAUT – 'Kill For Cash' - Cabbage 7" - USA - 1981
First single. Re-recorded for the LP but this has more charm.
2. THE VALVES - 'Tarzan Of The Kings Road' - Zoom 7" - UK - 1977
Second single. A scathing attack on aggressive London weekend punks.
3. VKTMS - 'Roma Rocket' - Emergency Room 7" - USA - 1979
Another track from the 'Midget' E.P.  Cheap alcohol blues.
4. VICTIMIZE - 'Hi-Rise Failure' - I.M.E. 7" - UK - 1979
Debut single. 'Living up here on the 86th floor and I'm going slightly crazy'.
5. THE WAYWARD YOUTH - 'El Mundo (Is A Weirdo) - Vinyl Solution 7" - USA - 1979
Moving on to the 'W's now. God only knows who El Mundo was but he was clearly viewed with suspicion.
6. CYBERMEN - 'Cybernetic Surgery' - Rockaway 7" - UK - 1978
First track from their debut E.P.  From North West England and Dr Who fans, no doubt.
7. SCREAM (REBELS AND INFIDELS) - 'Government Primer' - Immortal Nuts 7" - USA - 1982
'Ready, Set, Go!' This E.P. was originally released as 'Scream' but the 2nd pressing was under their new name 'Rebels And Infidels'.
8. THE DREGS - 'Schoolgirls In Bondage' - Disturbing 7" - UK - 1979
Another from their primitive-sounding E.P.
9. THE EXILE - 'The Real People' - Charly 7" - UK - 1978
Title track from their second E.P. Me and a mate used to argue non-stop about whether it was 4 handclaps at 0:26 or 4 drumbeats. And, yes, we were probably drunk at the time.
10. GLORIA MUNDI - 'Do It' - RCA Victor 7" - UK - 1978
The flipside of 'Fight Back!'
11. XS ENERGY - 'Jenny' - World 7" - UK - 1978
From the 'Eighteen' E.P. (which is probably the worst track). A bit soppy, but we were all teenagers once.
12. THE FLESH EATERS - 'Disintegration Nation' - Upsetter 7" - USA - 1978
From their debut E.P. The chorus wins it. Read more here.
13. RUDOLPH DIETRICH - 'You've Done It' - Off Course LP - Switzerland - 1980
From his debut solo album 'Mutterfreuden'. The stand out track.
14. THE DESCENDENTS - 'It's A Hectic World' - Orca Productions 7" - USA - 1980
From their debut single. Pre-Milo. If I include 'Ride The Wild' in the bonus tracks it'll be only to show how much better this side was.
15. THE PLAGUE - 'In Love' - Psycho 7" - UK - 1979
Despite blatantly nicking the riff from 'Baby Come Back', the lyrics are hilarious. 'I didn't know what to do, so I stood up and wiggled my leg like Elvis P.'
16. THE VALVES - 'Aint No Surf In Portobello' - Zoom 7" - UK - 1978
The flipside of 'Tarzan' which lampoons the late '70s London surf scene, which, to be fair, was already aware of the irony.
17. THE FRANTIX - 'My Dad's A Fuckin' Alcoholic' - Local Anaesthetic 7" - USA - 1983
The first dirge I enjoyed since Flipper.
18. TIGER TAILS - 'Fashion Fool' - Snotty Snail 7" - UK - 1979
Another track from the 'Words Without Conviction' E.P.
19. THE FLESH EATERS - 'Agony Shorthand' - Upsetter 7" - USA - 1980
Another from their debut E.P.
20. THE EXILE - 'Disaster Movie' - Charly 7" - UK - 1978
From the flipside of 'The Real People'. Included on the 'Streets' sampler.
21. THE PETTICOATS - 'I'm Free' - Bla-Bla-Bla 7" - UK - 1980
Another from the 'Normal' E.P.
22. XS ENERGY - 'Horrorscope' - World 7" - UK - 1978
Another from the 'Eighteen' E.P.
23. THE WAYWARD YOUTH - 'Do You Wanna' - Vinyl Solution E.P. - USA - 1979
The flipside of 'El Mundo'.
24. SCREAM (REBELS AND INFIDELS) - 'Mass Media' - Immortal Nuts 7" - USA - 1982
Another short sharp blast from the E.P.
25. THE DREGS - 'Dregs Of Humanity' - Disturbing 7" - UK - 1979
And another from the 'Disturbing' E.P.
***BONUS TRACKS***

27. VICTIMIZE - 'Baby Buyer'
28. KRAUT - 'Matinee'
29. THE DESCENDENTS - 'Ride The Wild'
30. VKTMS - 'Too Bad'
31. SCREAM (REBELS AND INFIDELS) - 'Generation '80'
32. THE CYBERMEN - 'Where's The New Wave?'
