The Best of Brought To Life - 126

1. PUKE SPIT AND GUTS – 'Puke Spit And Guts Theme' - Important LP - USA - 1980
One of those biker-punk bands attempting to hijack the scene back in the day. Corny? Yes, but I wouldn't have liked to mess with 'em!
2. ALL - 'Fool' - Cruz LP - USA - 1989
More top tunery from All. This one's from 'Allroy's Revenge'.
3. NASTY MEDIA - 'The Ripper' - Lightning 7"- UK - 1978
Fromthe 'Spiked Copy' E.P.  Not one of Lightning's best, but just about worthy.
4. ROKKER - 'Our Time Is Coming' - Owl LP - USA - 1979
This self-titled album was also reknowned as biker-punk but it seems they were just rockers with a bit of a punk bent. More proficient than Puke . . . From Austin,Texas.
5. JOE COOL AND THE KILLERS - 'I Just Don't Care' - Ariola 7" - UK - 1977
Sole single - also released on the album as The Killers the following year.
6. FIRE EXIT - 'Time Wall' - Timebomb 7" - UK - 1979
Sole single back in the day although they reformed a few years ago and have bashed out a few more recordings. From the Paisley area.
7. STRATE JACKET - 'Too Soon, Too Young' - Wessex 7" - UK - 1979
The superior flipside of sole single 'You're A Hit'. From the Southampton area.
8. THE ALCOHOLICS - 'Got To Be Wise' - Overindulged 7" - USA - 1980
One from their 5-song E.P. From good old Los Angeles.
9. THE PRATS - 'Disco Pope' - Rough Trade 7" - UK - 1980
From their '1990's pop' E.P. If they sound very young that's because they were. They were just a bunch of Edinburgh schoolboys making a racket. And why not?
10. THE SICK - 'World War III' - Off Course LP - Switzerland- 1980
From the 'Swiss Wave' compilation album.
11. THE HOAX - 'Oh Darling' - Hologramme 7" - UK - 1980
From their debut E.P. 'Only The Blind Can See In The Dark'. They were still learning the ropes at this point. 'I don't wanna be like you, your face is stuck together with buckets of glue'. Charming.
12. DIRT SHIT - 'Discoscheisser' - Ratt 7"- Austria - 1979
From their sole 'Rattenloch' E.P. Now don't tell me it's crap . . .
13. THE PORK DUKES - 'Telephone Masturbator' - Wood 7" - UK - 1978
Not one of their best musical efforts but I was thinking how I might be able to lower the tone, somehow.
14. SLIME - 'Hey Punk!' - Moderne Musik 7" - Germany - 1980
One from their debut E.P.
15.THE BOLLOCKS - 'R.I.P. Vicious' - Fetal 7" - USA - 1982
A real band of brothers - the Dagher brothers - from Baltimore. This is from their first E.P. 'All Rockstars Should Be Drafted'.
16. CELIA AND THE MUTATIONS - 'You Better Believe Me' - United Artists 7" - UK - 1977
Second single with The Stranglers on the instruments.
17. BOBBY SOXX - 'Learn To Hate In The '80s' - VVV 7" - USA - 1981
Sole single, though this guy was also in the Teenage Queers and Stick Men With Ray Guns. Tortured vocals from a tortured soul.
18. MONITOR - 'Beak' - World Imitation 7" - USA -1979
A bit unusual, a bit experimental, a bit good! Sole 7", though an album did follow in '81.
19. THE SMIRKS - 'Angry With Myself' - Smirksongs 7" - UK - 1979
From the 'American Patriots' E.P. Unashamed powerpop.

Another track from 'Only The Blind Can See In The Dark'.
