A nice sloppy early punk effort from the bowels of Frisco. This was their 'leather' phase.

2. THE DIDJITS - 'Max Wedge' - Touch And Go LP - USA - 1988

So, come on,  who the hell's got the 'Whoop My Head' or 'Durga! Durga! Durga!' cassettes??? Anybody??? Oh well, this is the opening track from second album 'Hey Judester'. See the video here.

3. HORRORCOMIC - 'I Don't Mind' - Lightning 7" - UK - 1978

Their second single. The band were rumoured to record-label staff but this is neither here nor there. Where's the rule that you can't work and play in a band at the same time?

4. THE CONTROLLERS - 'Neutron Bomb' - What? 7" - USA - 1978

The debut single from these L.A. legends.

5. THE SCROTUM POLES - 'Helicopter Honeymoon' - One Tone 7" - UK - 1980

Their 'Revelation' E.P. takes a while to get going but this is the stand-out track for me. From Tayside in Scotland.

6. THE ADICTS - 'Straightjacket' - Dining Out 7" - UK - 1979

From 'Lunch With The Adicts' - their debut 7" - before Monkey discovered make-up.

7. THE UNWANTED - 'Bleak Outlook' - Raw 7" - UK - 1977

From another debut E.P. 'Withdrawal' (which was the weakest track).

8. THE DIDJITS - 'Axhandle' - Touch And Go LP - USA - 1988

Another from 'Hey Judester'. 'You just can't get away from the fire!'

9. THE BUMP CARS - 'I Win' - Wat Rock 7" - USA - 1978

From their sole 5-track E.P. A less-well-known L.A. combo.

10. THE DEMICS - 'Talk's Cheap' - Ready 12" - Canada - 1979

From another 5-track E.P.  'New York City' was supposedly the stand-out track, but not to these ears.

11. THE CULT - 'Frontier' - Anti-Hype 7" - UK - 1980

Sole single. They were apparently from North-East England as one of the tracks appeared on the 'N.E.1' sampler.

12. THE BEEZ - 'Do The Suicide' - Edible 7" - UK - 1979

One from their second E.P.

Another from 'Hey Judester'. 'You would scream too if all's y' had was a skull!'

Their debut single, slower than the album version.

Second single, played endlessly by John Peel, most of which is the menacing intro.
