Love the UK Subs. I only have been able to see them once and they were great. It was about 7-8 years ago here in Chicago. Nicky Garratt played with them that night. Wish they would roll thru again, but they are only playing the west coast this year. I really like the new cd too.
ReplyDeleteThe UK Subs was the first show I ever went to - in January 1980 - age 16 - still with Paul Slack and Steve Roberts. They blew the support bands away and set the template for live shows ever since. The movement, the energy, just brilliant. The bands that followed had a lot to live up to. Watch 'Punk Can Take It' - that's how I remember them (though they were great with Alvin Gibbs and Steve Roberts too).
