The Best of Brought To Life - 173

1. THE DEAD KENNEDYS - 'Soup Is Good Food' - Alternative Tentacles LP - USA - 1985
Well, the H.R. Giger poster and the court case that followed somewhat overshadowed 'Frankenchrist' as an album. It's a strange one too, with psychedelic and even spaghetti western influences, it's by far the most diverse musical record they ever did. This was the opening track.
2. S.O.B. - 'Not Me' - Selfish 7" - Japan - 1986
Meanwhile, there's nothing diverse about S.O.B.  Thrash, bang, wallop . . . end. The opening track from first E.P. 'Leave Me Alone'.
3. SHAM 69 - 'What Have We Got?' - unlabelled 7" - UK - 1977
The infamous 'Song Of The Streets' one-sided freebie which was mostly given away at gigs.
4. HELLHOUND - 'Ota Mut Vielä Uudestaan' - Rokit 7" - Finland - 1979
The flipside of second single 'Pakoon Neonarmeijaa'. It's 'Suzy Is A Headbanger' with different lyrics, though don't ask me to translate.
5. THE BUREAUCRATS - 'Bureaucracy' - Demo - Canada - 1979
Finally made available in 2000 on a belated eponymous retro album.
6. THE RESISTERS - 'Affront' - Trikont LP - UK - 1979
From their sole German-released album. Anti-nazi, of course.
7. SHAM 69 - 'There's Gonna Be A Borstal Breakout' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1978
Their first single for Polydor. Live at Reading here.
8. THE REBELS - 'Pop Star' - Demo - UK - 1979
Available on the 'Misspent Youth' retro album on Knock Out.
9. THE TRADEMARKS - 'It's Up To You' - Take It! flexi - USA - 1981
From pop stars to powerpop. A freebie from 'Take It!' magazine.
10. S.O.B. - 'Give Me Advice' - Selfish 7" - Japan - 1986
A second track from 'Leave Me Alone'.
11. SHAM 69 - 'Angels With Dirty Faces' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1978
Their fourth single. 'Allo mum, whos on Top Of The Pops then?'
12. THE BUREAUCRATS - 'Today And Every Day' - Demo - Canada - 1979
Another track from their eponymous retro album.
13. S.O.B. - 'Leave Me Alone' - Selfish 7" - Japan - 1986
A third track from, you guessed it, 'Leave Me Alone'.
14. THE DEAD KENNEDYS - 'Hellnation' - Alternative Tentacles LP - USA - 1985
And another track from 'Frankenchrist'.
15. SHAM 69 - 'If The Kids Are United' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1978
Their fifth single, but there wasn't much uniting going on.
16. S.O.B. -  'S.O.B.' - Rise Above 7" - Japan - 1989
An incredibly short one from second E.P. 'Thrash Night'.
17. THE BUREAUCRATS - 'Now And Then' - Demo - Canada - 1979
A third track from their eponymous retro album.
18. THE DEAD KENNEDYS - 'Jock-O-Rama' - Alternative Tentacles LP - USA - 1985
A third from 'Frankenchrist'.
19. SHAM 69 - 'Hurry Up Harry' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1978
Their sixth single. The idealism didn't last long.
20. THE RESISTERS - 'The Dispossessed' - Trikont LP - UK - 1979
Another track from their sole German-released album.
21. S.O.B. - 'Thrash Night' - Rise Above 7" - Japan - 1989
The title track from 'Thrash Night'.

The flipside of 'Borstal Breakout'.

A fourth track from their eponymous retro album.
24. THE DEAD KENNEDYS - 'MTV Get Off The Air' - Alternative Tentacles LP - USA - 1985
And a fouth from 'Frankenchrist'. 'Forget honesty, forget creativity, the dumbest buy the mostest, that's the name of the game'.
25. SHAM 69 - 'The Cockney Kids Are Innocent' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1978
The flipside of 'Angels With Dirty Faces'.
