The Best of Brought To Life - 147

1. THE DEMONS - 'Action By Example' - Crypt Music 7" - UK - 1980
Previously Demon Preacher, though this was the only single released as The Demons. Nik went on to form Alien Sex Fiend.
2. JET STAXX - 'I'm Gonna Be The Best Guy' - Topkapi 7" - Belgium - 1978
The first of two singles they released that year.
3. THE FAVOURITES - 'Angelica' - 4Play 7"- UK - 1979
Second and final single with nice Blondie pastiche sleeve. If it sounds familiar, it's because it's a cover of an unreleased Wasps demo who were on the same label.
4. THE JERKS - 'You're Not Worth It (Jerk Off)' - Demo - UK - 1977
Speaking of demos, this one can be found on the Overground CD 'Jerk Off'.
5. CELL 609 - 'Factories' - Stuff 7" - Belgium - 1979
Sole single, recorded by impressing the jury in the first Belgian punk contest whick was a sort of New Faces for spikey-tops.
6. THE REZILLOS - 'I Can't Stand My Baby' - Sensible 7" - UK - 1977
First single, using the term 'uncool' long before most Britishers.
7. JOY RYDER & AVIS DAVIS - 'No More Nukes' - Monongo Music 7" - USA - 1979
This one has a nice interchange of male/female vocals plus the most humourous female name in rock until Dinah Cancer hit the scene.
8. THE CHEFS - '24 Hours' - Attrix 7" - UK - 1981
The secret diary of a stalker, the sweet vocals only adding to the sinisterness. From their second and final E.P.
9. THE DADISTICS - 'Modern Girl' - Braille 7" - USA - 1979
First single. 'All the right moves and maximum juice!'
10. THE TRAVOLTA KIDS - 'Veckans Brott' - Broderna Surf 7" - Sweden - 1979
Lead track from their first E.P.  A Tunisian trinket seller once said I looked like John Travolta. I wouldn't have minded but he screamed it to a hundred compatriates who were queueing up across the road to see 'Grease'.
11. THE XDREAMYSTS - 'City Girl' - Polydor LP - UK - 1980
One from their album. Though they were from Coleraine in Northern Ireland this album was only released in the Netherlands.

The flipside of sole single 'TV Time'.

Simplification. The Boys were after my own heart. One side of their second single.
14. YOUTH GONE MAD - 'Oki Dogs' - Youth Gone Mad 7" - USA - 1982
Hot dog joint vitriol, a bit overblown but it sounds like they meant it!
15. THE CHUDDY NUDDIES - 'Do The Chud' - Eric's 7" - UK - 1977
From 'Brutality, Religion And A Dance Beat' - a split single with Big In Japan. Their only release.
16. THE AGENTS - 'It's Gotta Be Done, Son' - X LP - UK - 1981
Another track from their German album that I forgot to include on the last comp.

This one finally got a 3-track 7" release by German label Ingognito in 1990
18. THE JETZ - 'Catch Me' - Various Labels - UK - 1977
Sole single, released all over Europe but not at home. Read more here.
19. DOCENT DÖD - 'Solglagon' - Sonet 7" - Sweden - 1980
Their second single and my personal favourite.
20. THE BONUS BOYS - 'I Want To Work In A Bank' - Tsunami 7" - Canada - 1980
'I don't wanna be free!' The other side of their second single.
21. THE CHEFS - 'Let's Make Up' - Attrix 7" - UK - 1981
Another from the '24 Hours' E.P.

From their sole E.P.  Similar theme to the last Bonus Boys song.
