The Best of Brought To Life - 145

1. NO MEANS NO - 'It's Catching Up' - Cargo LP - Canada - 1989
The opening track to fourth album 'Wrong'. 'How do you hide from something you have found?' Get drunk, of course.
2. THE GENRAL FOODZ - '(You Didn't Have To) Be So Funny' - Destiny 7" - USA - 1980
Sole single, though there's a Rave Up album with a few extra tracks too. Nice buzz-saw guitar. From Boston.
3. THE ORGANPIPES - 'Hey Kids Let's Dance' - Polydor 7" - UK - 1982
Sole single. Only released in Germany for some reason.
4. THE CRIMINALS - 'The Kids Are Back' - Sing Sing 7" - USA - 1978
Featuring ex-New York Doll Sylvain Sylvain. A little bit soft for a name like 'The Criminals'. It's got a plinky-plonk piano for fux sake!
5. THE WARHEADS - 'Dagen Är Natt' - R.I.P. 7" - Sweden - 1979
From their sole 4-tracker. No piano here.
6. TERRY TONIK - 'Just A Little Mod' - Posh 7" - UK - 1980
A one-off mod revival single from Mr Ian Harris.
7. LIKET LEVER - 'Levande Begravd' - Sista Bussen 7" - Sweden - 1979
Sole single. Featuring Freddie Wadling (later of Cortex and The Leather Nun).
8. THE WASPS - 'Cross My Heart' - Demo - UK - 1978
Available on Overground's 'Punkryonics' CD.
9. THE LIMPS - 'Someone I Can Talk To' - Matchbox Classics - UK - 1979
From their split E.P. with 'No Support'. 'Another Matchbox Classic!'
10. THE AMAZING SPACE FROGS - 'Norman And Jeremy' - Ribbett 7"- UK - 1979
Political satire albeit at ground level. From their 'Dirty Habits' E.P.
11. MASSMEDIA - 'Sveriges Radio' - Massproduktion 7" - Sweden - 1979
From their second E.P.  492 copies pressed (!)
12. WILD YOUTH - 'What 'Bout Me?' - Self-Released 7" - South Africa - 1979
Sole single (apart from the great recent Fresh CD, of course).
13. THE YOUNG CANADIANS - 'No Escape' - Quintessence 12" - Canada - 1979
The best track from their 'Hawaii' E.P. which somehow slipped under the radar last time.
14. THE STILETTOS - 'This Is The Way' - Ariola 7" - UK - 1979
Sole single - not to be confused with the New York Stilettos.
15. NO MEANS NO - 'Oh No! Bruno!' - Cargo LP - Canada - 1989
Another live favourite and the stand-out track from 'Wrong'.
16. THE WASPS - 'Free Country' - Demo - UK - 1978
Another from 'Punkryonics'.
17. LIKET LEVER - 'Hjärtats Slag' - Sista Bussen 7" - Sweden - 1979
The flipside of 'Levande Begravd'.
18. CHEESE - 'She Said' - B-B-Baby 7" - USA - 1979
Sole single. Read more here.
19. THE PLASMATICS - 'The Living Dead' - Stiff 12" - USA - 1980
Dodgy live recording from the Stiff 12" version of 'Butcher Baby'.
20. WILD YOUTH - 'Radio Youth' - Self-Released 7" - South Africa - 1979
The other side of their single.
21. THE WASPS - 'This Time' - Demo - UK - 1978
A third from 'Punkryonics'. Any one of these demos would have made a better second single than 'Rubber Cars'.
22. GENERAL FOODZ - 'Love Potion #9' - Destiny 7" - USA - 1980
The flipside of 'Funny'. Another old Lieber/Stoller classic.
23. THE CRIMINALS - 'The Cops Are Coming' - Sing Sing 7" - USA - 1978
We haven't had an instrumental for a while. This is a good one.
24. TERRY TONIK - 'Smashed And Blocked' - Posh 7" - UK - 1980
The flipside of 'Just A Little Mod'.
25. THE WASPS - 'Rubber Cars' - Demo - UK - 1978
Too slow and meandering for me. Included to prove a point.
***BONUS TRACK***
26. THE LIMPS - 'Unreal'
