The Best of Brought To Life - 133

1. BLACK FLAG - 'Slip It In' - SST LP - USA - 1984
Well, I couldn't get into most of the Black Flag stuff after 'Damaged' but this is one of the few exceptions.
2. THE ANGELIC UPSTARTS - 'Police Oppression' - Self-released 7" - UK - 1978
The flipside of debut 7" 'The Murder Of Liddle Towers' which you may just get in the bonus tracks at the end.
3. THE PACK - 'Com' On' - Vinyl 7" - Germany - 1978
German bandwagon jumpers? Probably. There was an album too.
4. THE FLYBOYS - 'Crayon World' - Flyguy 7" - USA - 1979
From Arcadia, California. They went on to release the first 12" on Frontier but it's hardly as good as the single.
5. THE CHEIFS - 'Knocked Out' - Playgems 7" - USA - 1980
From down the road in Hollywood this time, from their only 7", though Flipside put out an expanded CD collection many years later which has since been repressed on Doctor Strange. Their name is deliberately spelled that way though no-one seems to know why?
6. THREE TIMES A DAY - 'I Crave To Be A Hermaphrodite' - Abstract 7" - UK - 1981
Their sole single and every boy's fantasy at some point.
7. SPITTIN' TEETH - 'No Guarantee' - Polydent 7" - USA - 1980
Sole single, from Utah. Simple but effective riffage.
8. THE M-80's - 'Gone Away' - Demo - USA - 1979
Released in 2002 on the 'Big Bang' E.P. by Italian retro label Backstreet One.
9. TEENAGE JESUS AND THE JERKS - 'Orphans' - Migraine 7" - USA - 1978
No Wave meant no tunes and no use, often, other than as an anti-commercial statement, but I have to admit to liking this one. Featuring Lydia Lunch, of course.
10. JOHN DOWIE - 'British Tourist' - Virgin 7" - UK - 1977
Scathing yet hilarious satire from the 'Another Close Shave' E.P.  I used to meet people who sounded like this when I worked at the dole office. No-one does white trash quite like the British.
11. THE RAZORS - 'Madhouse Meeting' - Konnekschen 12" - Germany - 1982
One from the excellent 'Banned Punx' E.P. that I failed to include last time.
12. SHOCK TREATMENT - 'Belfast Telegraph' - Energy 7" - UK/Ireland - 1980
From the Northern/Southern Irish  'Room To Move' compilation E.P.  Remember the '90s when it was cool to make records as scratchy as this?
13. THE WIPERS - 'Alien Boy' - Park Avenue 7" - USA - 1980
Their second 7" - taken from 'Is This Real?'
14. THE SUBVERTS - 'Radiation Nation' - Clandestine 7" - USA - 1981
From their sole E.P. entitled 'Independent Study'. From Chicago.
15. THREE TIMES A DAY - 'Storm' - Abstract 7" - UK - 1981
Another track from their 7".
16. THE OFFS - 'Johnny Too Bad' - Crack In The World 7" - USA - 1978
Their debut single. Love the accent Don! (R.I.P.)
17. GRIM KLONE - 'Stet' - Demo - USA - 1979
Released posthumously on a 7" - but recorded in New Jersey in 1979.
18. THE VILETONES - 'Rebel' - Vile 7" - Canada - 1977
One from the flipside of 'Screamin' Fist'.
19. THE PSEUDO EXISTORS - 'Modern Warfare' - Dead Good 7" - UK - 1979
One from their 'Stamp Out Normality!' E.P.
20. JOHN DOWIE - 'Mew Wave' - Virgin 7" - UK - 1977
And another track from 'Another Close Shave'. 'He cuts his throat when he has to swaller, could it be the razor blade hanging off his collar?' Swaller meaning 'swallow', of course.
21. THE OUTCASTS - 'Cyborg' - Energy 7" - UK/Ireland - 1980
Another from the 'Room To Move' E.P.
22. ACTION PACT - 'Suicide Bag' - Fallout 7" - UK - 1982
Played endlessly by John Peel, I remember.
23. THE FLYBOYS - 'Square City' - Flyguy 7" - USA - 1979
The flipside of 'Crayon World'.
24. THE WIPERS - 'Telepathic Love' - Park Avenue 7" - USA - 1980
One from the flipside of 'Alien Boy'.
25. BIG SELF - 'Snakes And Ladders' - Energy 7" - UK/Ireland - 1980
And another from 'Room To Move'.
***BONUS TRACKS***
26. THE M-80s - 'My Uns'
27. THE VIPERS - 'Take Me'
28. THE RAZORS - 'Tommies Gang'
29. THE ANGELIC UPSTARTS - 'The Murder Of Liddle Towers'
