The Best of Brought To Life - 226

1. THE LURKERS - 'She Knows' - Beggars Banquet LP - UK - 1979
The opening track to second album 'God's Lonely Men'. Not a patch on 'Fulham Fallout, sadly.
2. THE PIRANHAS - 'Boyfriend' - Peel Session - UK - 1979
Another classic Peel session. Complete with one of Peely's famous faux passes at the end.
3. TESCO VEE - 'Interlude #1' - Cruz LP - USA - 1988
Chemical People's first album 'So Sexist!' would have been pretty unremarkable if it wasn't for the hilarious Tesco Vee interludes.
4. CHEMICAL PEOPLE - 'Don't Tell Me' Cruz LP - USA - 1988
And here's one of the better regular tracks.
5. THE RICH KIDS - 'Young Girls' - Peel Session - UK - 1978
Powerpop excellence from another great Peel session.
6. THE LURKERS - 'Just Thirteen' - Beggars Banquet 7" - UK - 1979
Their fifth single. How you take this song depends on how you take the chorus line: 'Just thirteen, it's hurting'. Don't jump the gun folks.
7. SPLODGENESSABOUNDS - 'Rolf' - Peel Session - UK - 1980
An ode to the Australian didgeridoo/wobble board playing paedophile. I bet they regret it now!
8. TOTAL EGON - 'Jag Ãr en Genomskinlig Gas' - Self-released 7" - Sweden - 1989
From the one man band himself, this was the opening track from third E.P. 'Män'.
9. THE LURKERS - 'Out In The Dark' - Beggars Banquet 7" - UK - 1979
Sixth single - available as a two-song single or a 4-song E.P.
10. TESCO VEE - 'Interlude #2' - Cruz LP - USA - 1988
Funny, funny, funny! From 'So Sexist!' of course
11. YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH - 'Wanderlust' - NRK cassette - Canada - 1983
From a little known compilation cassette called 'T.O. Hardcore '83' which got a vinyl reissue in 2010.
12. THE PIRANHAS - 'Getting Beaten Up' - Peel Session - UK - 1979
Most notable because the 'Watney's' was changed to 'lager' for the vinyl version, no doubt in fear of a costly lawsuit.
13. THE LURKERS - 'Cyanide' - Beggars Banquet 7" - UK - 1979
Getting your kicks from cyanide is not recommended. From the flipside of  'Out In The Dark'.
14. SPLODGENESSABOUNDS - 'Pilchard Freak' - Peel Session - UK - 1980
Knicker-sniffing nonsense from their smirk-inducing Peel session.
15. TOTAL EGON - 'U-Båt I Mitt Badkar' - Self-released 7" - Sweden - 1988
My favourite track from his second E.P. 'Guldkängan'.
16. TESCO VEE - 'Interlude #3' - Cruz LP - USA - 1988
Tesco re-inventing a hair metal song. Name that tune . . .
17. THE LURKERS - 'New Guitar In Town' - Beggars Banquet 7" - UK - 1979
Seventh single. Watch them jammin' it with Die Mimmis here.
18. THE PIRANHAS - 'Happy Families' - Peel Session - UK - 1979
A third track from their first Peel session.
19. YOUTH YOUTH YOUTH - 'Made In England' NRK cassette - Canada - 1983
How dare they dis my country?! Well, I suppose they have a point. From 'T.O. Hardcore '83'.
20. THE RICH KIDS - 'Rich Kids' - Peel Session - UK - 1978
I've posted the single version before but it's a great song with a great intro so here's the Peel session version. Rare live clip here.
21. THE LURKERS - 'This Dirty Town' - Clay 7" - UK - 1982
The great comeback single without Howard. Shame they didn't follow it up with much.
22. TOTAL EGON - 'Genmanipulera' - Self-released 7" - Sweden - 1989
Another track from third E.P. 'Män'.
23. CHEMICAL PEOPLE - 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly' Cruz LP - USA - 1988
And another track from 'So Sexist!'
24. TESCO VEE - 'Interlude #4' Cruz LP - USA - 1988
As is this. 'Captain's log, peanutty and painful'.  Arf.
25. THE LURKERS - 'Bad Times' - Beggars Banquet LP - UK - 1979
The closing track from 'God's Lonely Men'.
***BONUS TRACKS***

27. THE RICH KIDS - 'Bulletproof Lover' (from the '78 Peel session)

    1. Sorry, most are dead cos Zippyshare deletes files if they aren't downloaded for 30 days. I may upload them again when I run out of CDs to post but that won't be for a good while yet. I don't have the 'net at home so I only have my library time to do the blog and most of that is taken up with jobsearching I'm afraid!
