1. CHROME - 'Return To Zanzibar'
'The Visitation' - Siren LP - USA - 1976
Much of Chrome's output is full of psychotic experimental soundscapes and kudos to them for doing something different all these years. This one from their debut album however is one of the few tracks to contain riffage, and good riffage, of course.
2. NYX NEGATIV - 'Döda (Oss)'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
Early Swedish hardcore of the musical kind. Why this was never committed to vinyl is a mystery.
3. LUKE MUCUS & THE PHLEGM - 'Do Something Gross'
Demo - USA - 1979
One of the greatest intros in punk rock. Sorta schoolyard punk I suppose but, hey, we were all teenagers once. Read all about 'em here.
4. NO MAN'S LAND - 'Lantin'
Single - No Man's Land 7" - Belgium - 1980
And after all these years you still get the odd KBD classic that I'd somehow overlooked.
5. ABUSE - 'In America'
'No Money' - Fresh Sounds Inc 6" Flexi - USA - 1981
From Topeka, Kansas. This was a freebie with Talk Talk fanzine and just recently Rave Up have re-released it as a 7" with an extra track. There were clearly no other live shows or demos to make it an album.
6. NYX NEGATIV - 'Bombe'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
7. BREAKOUT - 'Get Out - Fight Back'
Flipside of 'Wall Of Solitude' - Guardian 7" - UK - 1981
Formed out of the ashes of Seaham's CRIME, Breakout sadly made exactly the same mistake of releasing a rubbish single with a really good B-side. And that was that.
8. SPEEDTWINS - 'Speedtwins'
'It's More Fun To Compete' - Universe Productions LP - Netherlands - 1978
Dutch biker punk (with an English singer). You just know it's gonna be good. There's even crazy video footage here.
9. CHROME - 'In A Dream'
'Inworlds' - Don't Fall Off The Mountain 12" - USA - 1981
There's a video for this one on YouTube but it doesn't really do it justice.
10. NYX NEGATIV - 'Anti War'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
11. ADAM ROTH & HIS BAND OF MEN - 'Now You're Runnin'
'Down The Shore (OST)' - ACM LP - USA - 1981
Yep, this one's from a movie. I bet it's rubbish. I posted a track way back on #166 so it's high time you had a couple more.
12. CHAOS UK - 'Head On A Pole'
'Enough To Make You Sick!' - Toys Factory CD - UK - 1992
13. PUBLIC IMAGE LTD - 'Flowers Of Romance'
Single - Virgin 7" - UK - 1981
And of course you'll want to see some visuals.
14. NYX NEGATIV - 'Lurad'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
15. LUKE MUCUS & THE PHLEGM - 'Mother Is A Trucker'
Demo - USA - 1979
She sounds like a real diamond.
16. SPEEDTWINS - 'Motorbike Song'
'It's More Fun To Compete' - Universe Productions LP - Netherlands - 1978
17. CHROME - 'The Need'
'Blood On The Moon' - Don't Fall Off The Mountain LP - USA - 1981
18. NYX NEGATIV - 'Anti Nazze'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
19. PEROXIDE - 'State Rebel'
Demo - UK - 1986
No vinyl from this lot, who later morphed into Blood And Thunder. Titch gave me a drum lesson once in one of the upstairs rooms of the old Riverside. I was crap.
20. CHAOS UK - 'Midas Touch'
'Enough To Make You Sick!' - Toys Factory CD - UK - 1992
21. SPEEDTWINS - 'Stiletto Heels'
'It's More Fun To Compete' - Universe Productions LP - Netherlands - 1978
22. NYX NEGATIV - 'Makten'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
23. ABUSE - 'No Money'
'No Money' - Fresh Sounds Inc 6" Flexi - USA - 1981
24. ADAM ROTH & HIS BAND OF MEN - 'Baseball Rock'
'Down The Shore (OST)' - ACM LP - USA - 1981
25. CHROME - 'The Strangers'
'Blood On The Moon' - Don't Fall Off The Mountain LP - USA - 1981
26. NYX NEGATIV - 'Russian Tanks'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
27. SPEEDTWINS - 'Two Wheels'
'It's More Fun To Compete' - Universe Productions LP - Netherlands - 1978
28. CHAOS UK - 'Loser'
'Enough To Make You Sick!' - Toys Factory CD - UK - 1992
29. NO MAN'S LAND - 'You'll Never Be A Superstar'
Single - Polydor 7" - Belgium - 1981
Prophetic words indeed. Their second single, and as it wasn't brilliant, their last.
30. NYX NEGATIV - 'Nyromantiker'
'S/T' - Spunk cassette - Sweden - 1983
31. CHROME - 'Chromosome Damage'
'Alien Soundtracks' - Siren LP - USA - 1977
